Cirque du Ciel has a local MP as the newest member of the Charity. Andrew George MP found out about Cirque du Ciel’s projects working with families traumatized by domestic violence through the government grant scheme, Awards for All.
He wrote to congratulate the charity on receiving an award for £10,000 from Awards for All to work with vulnerable families who had experienced domestic violence in two locations in Cornwall and Devon. He was so impressed by Cirque du Ciel’s work that he agreed to become a member, so he could be updated on the progress of the project and find out more information on activities that Cirque du Ciel runs.

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Julia Harrold to this important position at the helm of Cirque du Ciel during such a crucial time period. She brings to the job her vibrant energy, enthusaistic personality and determination to help take Cirque du Ciel through the winter of discontent and on into a bright and glorious summer.
Julia has many relevant skills for helping to run Cirque du Ciel. She has a background in working with communities through volunteering, working as a community development officer, organising parents forums, teaching a parent education programme and currently co-ordinates the Families Team within CN4C. She has experience of working with, hard to reach groups, developing sustainability within communities, planning and funding projects.
The next 12 months are going to be very challenging for Cirque du Ciel as the committee seeks to extend funding to develop it’s core projects for the next 3-5 years. CdC is committed to working across Cornwall and Devon with families who have experienced domestic violence, with children in care and with youngsters who are struggling both within special schools and mainstream education.
