The Cirque du Ciel Award

Our award is a measure of participation, progress and commitment for young people aged between 12 and 19 inclusive*. It can be the first tangible acknowledgement of achievement they receive.

We work with the young people to identify individual, personal and social development targets. When progress is made from the individual's starting point, they receive a credit certificate in one of 3 categories:

  • Individual achievement - circus skill
  • Individual achievement - personal development
  • Group achievement - working with others

When they have at least one credit in each of the three categories, they will be eligible forĀ  Cirque du Ciel Award 1. They can then work towards their level 2 and 3 full awards. During these levels the young people learn the skills necessary to work as a volunteer or paid assistant with CdC.

From there, young people can be signposted towards other forms of accreditation such as the Cornwall Award, Youth Achievement Awards, and the Duke of Edinburgh's Award.

* Age limits are aligned to those of the Youth Service
