The Cirque du Ciel Award

Our award is a measure of participation, progress and commitment for young people aged between 11 and 19 inclusive. It can be the first tangible acknowledgement of achievement they receive.

We work with the young people to identify individual, personal and social development targets. When progress is made from the individual's starting point, they receive a credit certificate in one of 3 categories:

  • Individual achievement - circus skill
  • Individual achievement - personal development
  • Group achievement - working with others

When they have at least one credit in each of the three categories, they will be eligible for  Cirque du Ciel Award 1. From there, young people can be signposted towards other forms of accreditation such as the Cornwall Award, Youth Achievement Awards, and the Duke of Edinburgh's Award.

We also encourage older children to volunteer with CdC and where possible employ young assistants age 16+.
