So…Cirque Du Ciel?  If you want to learn circus in Cornwall, want to perform circus in Cornwall, want to develop a career in circus in Cornwall.  If you want to know about all things circus near you in Cornwall.  If you are looking for a Home Ed Day School in Cornwall, or if you want to find a circus workshop for your school, or class in Cornwall.  If you are looking for a performance, rehearsal or training venue in Cornwall, specifically tailored to the Circus and Physical Performing Arts.  If you are looking for classes in aerial circus skills, classes in ground based circus skills, for adults, teens or kids, or an individual, community, or creative group looking for a local hot desk, meeting room, bit of office space, or therapy room just off the A39 Carnon Gate roundabout.  If you are a performing company or a professional instructor or performer looking to hire space for teaching, training or performance.  If you just want to try a new healthy fun activity, find something positive and meaningful to do with yourself, to boost your confidence, your self esteem, or get over your low mood, or social anxiety.  You’ve come to the right place, it’s what Cirque Du Ciel’s all about.

Cirque du Ciel is a small charity, with a big heart, and even bigger ideas, offering opportunities to learn, develop, perform, and get involved in Circus, throughout Cornwall, and Devon, to everyone!  We use circus skill based activities to bring about positive personal, social and community development, and get amazing results.  Cirque Du Ciel emerges revitalised in 2018, after a brief period of dormancy, whilst new Trustees, and a new Charity Manager were found.

At our core is the research work, evidence and proven results of Social Circus Pioneer Dr Reginald Bolton Phd, as outlined in his thesis ‘Why Circus Works’

Dr Bolton used the human hand to illustrate and communicate the areas of real, positive personal and social development open to children taking part in circus skill based activities.  Mr Mike Finch, previous Artistic Director of Circus Oz , outlines this hand model beautifully, and simply in the link below.

We aim for everyone to have a safe place to play and be imaginative, be active, improve their confidence and self esteem, big and small alike.  We aim to foster creativity, and freedom of expression, to bring rewarding challenges, and to encourage and support ways to positively invest in both individuals lives, and the wider the communities that they live in.

Up to now at least 70% of our work has been targeted towards disadvantaged children and we aim to be as inclusive as possible.  We are not stopping there though!

2018 also sees CDC under new management, with a strong focus on including everyone, and creating a sustainable way of working, as Brexit draws ever closer!

We are a charity run by volunteers, so every penny donated, or paid for classes, or shows, goes straight to doing the work, at grass roots level.

We’re passionate about starting and maintaining long term projects, as well as achieving short term projects, to ring fenced funding allowances.  To do so means we have to generate funds through, classes, and shows, memberships, and donations.  Please show your love and support of what we do, and put a penny or two in our magic hat!  Details of how you can donate coming soon!

Mostly we’re about doing, and listening….get in touch, we’re here for you!  Yes…you!!  So… let us know what we can help you to do, for yourself, your group, your school, or your event.

As an example Cirque du Ciel delivered over 420 hours of circus activities for over 1,500 children during school year 10/11 alone.

All of our tutors are trained, insured, CRB checked, and risk assess sessions.

Cirque du Ciel is a registered Charity in England No:1106043.
